It’s reusable, strong & non-toxic plastic you can mold yourself!
InstaMorph is an advanced modeling compound that becomes moldable when warm (150 deg F) and solidifies at room temperature. It’s made out of a lightweight polyester thermoplastic which acts like clay when warm, but when it cools, it’s a strong plastic. Unlike other products that once they dry they are locked in that shape forever, InstaMorph can be reheated over and over again and re-molded into any number of configurations.

Suggested Use
1- Heat some water to 150 degrees F.
2- Pour InstaMorph pellets into the water.
3- Wait approximately two minutes or until white InstaMorph pellets turn clear and stick together.
4- Remove from the water and get rid of any remaining liquid between the pellets.
5-Form into desired shape with your hands, tools, molds, or any other means necessary.
6- Once you’ve got your InstaMorph creation finalized, let it cool to room temperature and use.

Other Heating Methods
Besides hot water, InstaMorph can be warmed to it’s activation temperature of 150 deg F using other heat sources. For example, you can use:

  • Oven – place InstaMorph beads on a non-stick surface until they turn clear.
  • Hot Air Gun – These are available at your local hardware store and are more powerful than your normal hair dryer (those work too). If you use this tool, be extra careful, as a hot air gun’s working temperature can be upwards of 1,000 deg F. You increase the risk destroying your InstaMorph and/or causing nasty burns to yourself.

Heating Above 150 Degrees
We frequently get the question of how to make InstaMorph stay moldable for longer. One simple method is to heat up the InstaMorph a bit higher than the recommended activation temperature. With the higher temperature, the plastic will stay above the temperature needed to stay moldable for an increased period of time. This does increase the overall temperature of the material though, which increases the risk of a heat related injury (see warnings below).

Ideal for many projects and all skill levels
Mold it with your hands, tools, or press around an object to make a mold. InstaMorph can be painted, machined, carved or attached to other materials.

Product Uses

  • Create props, masks, or other costume pieces for Halloween or theater.
  • Makes excellent brackets, parts, molds, or housings for your next project.
  • Make your own action figures or accessories.
  • Mold around existing handles or grips for an easy ergonomic solution.
  • Make custom cases or stands for the latest electronic gadgets.
  • Ideal for prototypers or makers who want a strong, reusable compound.

Warnings
We’d like to think that if you’re smart enough to realize the amazing possibilities of moldable plastic, we wouldn’t have to tell you this, but we’ll do it anyways…

  • Burns suck. Be careful when heating water or using your stove or heat gun to heat up InstaMorph. Heating InstaMorph above 150 degrees F increases the likelihood of heat related injuries.
  • Small pellets of InstaMorph could be a choking hazard. Please supervise small children when using InstaMorph.
  • InstaMorph can stick to different materials when it’s hot. Sometimes you want this, sometimes you don’t. It can stick to the following including but not limited to: metal, other plastic, vinyls, fabrics, acrylics (like fake fingernails or plexiglass), and styrofoam.
  • Because of the unique remoldable property of InstaMorph, you should keep your finished pieces away from sources of extreme heat. We would hate to see you lose your amazing creation in a tragic space-heater accident.
  • Although its non-toxic, InstaMorph has not yet been certified “safe for internal use” or “food contact safe”.
